Based out of Winterport, Maine, and drawing upon vast & varied musical experiences and influences, AMM&RT produces a sound that is refreshingly unique -- described as “bluegrass ~ with a shot of estrogen!” (The Maine Edge) Anna Mae’s “effervescent” lead vocals are backed by strong and polished two- and three-part female harmonies and solid bluegrass-style accompaniment. With a repertoire rooted in traditional bluegrass, folk, blues, and gospel music, Anna Mae Mitchell & Rising Tide brings audiences fresh arrangements and originals by up-and-coming songwriters from the mid-west to Maine. Band members include Anna Mae Mitchell (lead vocals & guitar), Kadee Reynolds (harmony vocals & percussion), Nancy Merrill (bass fiddle & harmony vocals), Richard Silver (mandolin & guitar), Steven Peterson (banjo), and Bill Thibodeau (guitar, mandolin, fiddle).
